# Connect LinkedIn

> Connect your LinkedIn account so Guhan can send invites, messages, comments, and reactions as you.

**Connect your LinkedIn once. Guhan sends invites, messages, comments, reactions, and profile views from it.**

> [!NOTE]
>
> Your LinkedIn account is used only for sending. Finding prospects never runs searches from your account.

## Steps

**1. Open Sender accounts**

Settings, Sender accounts. You can also connect from your profile under Sender accounts, or from the connect prompt when you set up a campaign's senders.

**2. Click Add sender and pick LinkedIn**

The dialog shows how many senders you have used out of your limit. If you are an admin with teammates, you can also choose who the sender is for.

![Add sender with LinkedIn selected. Click Continue authentication](https://mintcdn.com/outzen/qi8TKfM9RRqmU7-c/images/sa-dialog-linkedin.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=qi8TKfM9RRqmU7-c\&q=85\&s=95d6862ebc03137fa23c2c49bc07cd8d)

Add sender with LinkedIn selected. Click Continue authentication

**3. Sign in on LinkedIn**

Click **Continue authentication**. LinkedIn's sign-in opens in a new tab, with two ways to sign in: your **email and password**, or a **session cookie**. Choose one, as described below. Guhan never sees your password.

**4. Return to Guhan**

Guhan finishes setup in a moment. The sender appears in the list. A healthy sender shows no warning badge.

## Two ways to sign in

At the top of the sign-in page, pick a method: **Credentials** or **Cookies**.

### Method 1: email and password

Open the **Credentials** tab, enter the email and password you use for LinkedIn, and click **Login**. This is the simplest way. If it does not work for you, use a session cookie instead.

![The Credentials tab: enter your LinkedIn email and password, then click Login](https://mintcdn.com/outzen/qi8TKfM9RRqmU7-c/images/linkedin-signin-default.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=qi8TKfM9RRqmU7-c\&q=85\&s=2f8db4a245bd6fb763047e4c723621f4)

The Credentials tab: enter your LinkedIn email and password, then click Login

### Method 2: session cookie

A session cookie is a small value that LinkedIn keeps in your browser while you are signed in. Copy one value from your browser, called **li\_at**, and paste it into the **Cookies** tab. You do not need your password.

![The Cookies tab: paste your li\_at value. The li\_a field is optional, for Recruiter and Sales Navigator accounts](https://mintcdn.com/outzen/qi8TKfM9RRqmU7-c/images/linkedin-signin-using-cookie.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=qi8TKfM9RRqmU7-c\&q=85\&s=4bba06f8a02e08a85514de97586cd972)

The Cookies tab: paste your li\_at value. The li\_a field is optional, for Recruiter and Sales Navigator accounts

> [!WARNING]
>
> Treat the cookie like a password. Paste it only into this sign-in page and never share it. Signing out of LinkedIn ends that session, and the cookie stops working.

Your cookie has to be collected in the same browser as the sign-in page. Finding it is not possible on a phone or tablet app, so use a computer.

#### How to find your li\_at cookie

This is what the **How to find them?** link on the sign-in page explains.

**1. Open LinkedIn**

Open [linkedin.com](https://www.linkedin.com) in a new tab of the same browser.

**2. Log in**

Log in to the LinkedIn account you want to connect.

**3. Open your browser's developer tools**

Press **F12** in Chrome, Edge or Firefox, or **Option + Command + I** in Safari. Then open the **Application** tab (Chrome and Edge) or the **Storage** tab (Firefox and Safari).

**4. Open the LinkedIn cookies**

In the left list, open **Cookies** and click **[https://www.linkedin.com](https://www.linkedin.com)**.

**5. Copy the li\_at value**

Find the row named **li\_at**. Typing `li_at` in the filter box finds it quickly. Click the row and copy the **Cookie Value**.

![In your browser's developer tools, open Cookies, then https://www.linkedin.com. Select the li\_at row and copy the Cookie Value shown below it (blurred in this picture)](https://mintcdn.com/outzen/qi8TKfM9RRqmU7-c/images/linkedin-session-cookie.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=qi8TKfM9RRqmU7-c\&q=85\&s=fe07ff70928608cdb983259a41103767)

In your browser's developer tools, open Cookies, then [https://www.linkedin.com](https://www.linkedin.com). Select the li\_at row and copy the Cookie Value shown below it (blurred in this picture)

**6. Paste it and log in**

Go back to the sign-in tab, paste the value into **Enter your li\_at value**, and click **Login**.

If your account has a Recruiter or Sales Navigator subscription, also copy the **li\_a** cookie the same way and paste it into the optional **li\_a** field.

## Sending limits and windows

LinkedIn is the channel with the tightest limits. Daily and weekly caps, the sending window, and pacing are all covered in [Sending safety](https://docs.outzen.ai/campaigns/sending-safety.md). You can adjust them for each account in its settings.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Raising limits above the defaults raises the risk of LinkedIn restricting your account. Keep the defaults unless you have a reason.

## Several LinkedIn accounts

You can connect more than one, up to your sender limit (see [Sender accounts](https://docs.outzen.ai/get-started/sender-accounts/overview.md#how-many-senders-you-can-connect)). Each has its own limits and schedule. Add several to one campaign and Guhan spreads the work across them.

## If something's off

> [accordion] The sign-in tab did not open
>
> Your browser may have blocked the pop-up. Allow pop-ups for Guhan and click **Continue authentication** again.

> [accordion] LinkedIn refused the sign-in
>
> Try the other sign-in method (Credentials or Cookies), a private window, or a different browser, and make sure you are signing into the account you meant to connect. If a cookie is refused, log in to LinkedIn again and copy a fresh **li\_at** in the same browser.

> [accordion] It says the account is already connected
>
> Someone in your organization already connected this LinkedIn account. Ask them, or an admin, to reassign or disconnect it first.

> [accordion] Stuck on finishing setup
>
> Wait a minute, then refresh Settings, Sender accounts. If the sender is not there, connect again.

> [accordion] The sender later shows Re-authorize or Reconnect needed
>
> LinkedIn signed Guhan out. Use the action on the account's row. See [Sender accounts](https://docs.outzen.ai/get-started/sender-accounts/overview.md#sender-status).
